Cartilage Injury 1: Overview of Surgical Treatment


Cartilage lines all of the joints in our body and is crucial for pain-free motion. Unlike muscles, tendons, and ligaments, cartilage has very little ability to heal after injury. Therefore, when cartilage injury occurs in an athlete, it often requires some type of surgical intervention in order to return to their previous level of play. In this video, I briefly outline the surgical options available today. Microfracture, OATs, ACI and more are covered.
