Cartilage Injury 3: OATS Procedure

Cartilage injuries can be devastating injuries to the athlete with or without surgical management. The OATS procedure, or osteochondral autologous transfer procedure, has been proven recently to have the best chance of restoring athletes back to their previous level of play after cartilage injury. It is also very effective for treating osteochondritis dissecans, a fairly common condition in adolescent athletes.
